Biography
Dr. Ioana Demeter serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Dental Public Health Sciences at Texas A&M University College of Dentistry, where she mentors third- and fourth-year dental students in clinical practice. With over fifteen years of experience as a General Dentist at Prism Health North Texas/Community Dental Care in Dallas, she has devoted her career to delivering compassionate, high-quality care to diverse and underserved populations, including low-income patients and individuals with special needs.
Dr. Demeter earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) from the New York University College of Dentistry (2008–2011) following her Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry (D.M.D.) from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy “Carol Davila” in Bucharest, Romania. She also completed Advanced Residency Training in General Dentistry at the same institution (2000–2002).
Her academic journey includes serving as Clinical Faculty at NYU Lutheran Medical Center (2015–2016), where she mentored residents in the Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) program, emphasizing complex procedures and interdisciplinary collaboration. Earlier in her career, she was an Assistant Professor of Anatomy and Embryology at “Carol Davila” University, Faculty of Dentistry, teaching dissection-based gross anatomy with an emphasis on head and neck structures.
Dr. Demeter has been recognized for her professional excellence with multiple Employee of the Quarter awards at Community Dental Care (2011, 2013). Her unwavering commitment to patient care, clinical excellence, and dental education continues to inspire students and colleagues alike.
